NEARLY SUMMER by ENI |
|
| "Nearly Summer." is a recent painting,
and to complete it I used lots of Giraults. They actually saved the
painting, as it had seriously stalled and spent some months in the
closet.
My painting, "Thunderstruck", was awarded First Place for Landscape in
the Austin Pastel Society Annual Members' Juried Exhibition May 2011. Back in 2004 when I decided to quit my day job and become
a full time painter, I chose Pastels Girault as my first complete set
of professional pastels. They are still a favorite. So versatile, I
like to use them for starting a painting. The darks are excellent, and
it is easy to layer over them. I can't imagine painting a landscape
without Girault's range of useful and inspiring greens. The blues and
grays are wonderful for clouds. Blending is effortless. Massing to
eliminate not-needed details is a joy with Giraults. I also enjoy the
warm colors for a touch of high drama at the end of a painting. I have
found no other pastel that can do both broad strokes and fine detail as
well. http://web.mac.com/enidwood

I bought the landscape set a few months ago and also have a 25 pc grey set. These pastels are changing the way I work, in fact I won Best of Show at the Adirondack Pastel Society Show in May of this year. There is no word to explain how these pastels have change my work. I plan to buy more soon! Thank you --- Susan Williamson http://1-susan-williamson.artistwebsites.com/
I have been extremely pleased with the Girault sets and have just used them to create my painting that was juried into the Pastel Society's Exhibition and Ct Pastel Society both in 2009. This painting received the Joseph V. Gifunni Foundation Award at PSA and it was my first; so I am very encouraged to keep painting and using Girault Pastels. My website is : www.artbykarenisrael.com Thanks again for your help. Regards, Karen Israel ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I did use Girault 30 years ago when my Granny used them and remembered Girault to be very high quality so now that I am going "pro" again I want the best in my studio. Saw your sales on ebay, and liked the price. You have a fan for life. I have closed my old business "Victorian Beauty" and retired now to just paint. I do landscapes and animal and portraits, soon to get a blog up and running. Drusilla

After purchasing the set of "greys" I became hooked to these pastels. Upon using them, I realized their high outstanding quality!! The results were exciting when I used them on a tree and a landscape that I was working on. There is so much that can be done with them. So versatile, and they are capable of doing so much. Their size is great too. I loved what I was able to do with them.
I can't wait to get the Elizabeth Mowry set. With these pastels, my expectations have risen quite high for producing better work. - Thank you!!! http://sandyaskeyadams.com a MUST SEE Web of this great artist!

I am a master pastellist (Pastel Society of America) and your pastels are the second set I bought when I began -many years ago. I adore the richness of colors and appreciate how consistent they are. Currently I have been using pastel mat paper and they work wonderfully well. I have been teaching for many years and I always tell my students about them.
Currently I am preparing for a one person show and for the first time I am going to frame my paintings directly against the glass, as I feel secure that the pastel will hold. Thank you, thank you-for your wonderful product! Carol Kardon
